What is One Camden?
One Camden is an application for families that facilitates the learning and enrollment process for Camden public schools. Instead of having to enter multiple applications for different deadlines, families can use One Camden to apply to district schools, outside their neighborhood, charter schools, and renaissance schools. To ensure a fair process, which treats all families equally, participating schools will only accept applications through One Camden.

Who should fill out an application?
Any student who wants to attend a different school the following year.

Do I have to apply if my child is happy in their current school and will attend the same school next year?
It is not necessary to apply. Your child can continue attending his current school.
If your child is attending Pre-K in the same building as an elementary school, you may need to apply to attend kindergarten. Call 856-536-3999 for help.

Do I have to apply if I want my child to attend their neighborhood school next year?
Applying to the neighborhood school in your neighborhood is optional. You can select the school in your application to let them know that you plan to attend, but your child has a guaranteed seat regardless of whether you submit an application.

Do I have to apply if I want to enroll my child in pre-k next year?

Do I have to apply if I want my child to go to a Renaissance school next year?
Yes, it is necessary to apply. You must fill out an application for your child and add the Renaissance school as one of your options.
If you live in the school neighborhood, your child will have priority.

Do I have to apply if I want my child to attend a Charter school next year?
Yes, it is necessary to apply. You must fill out an application for your child and add the charter school as one of your options.

Do I have to apply if I want my child to attend a district school other than a neighborhood school?
Yes, it is necessary to apply: You must fill out an application for your child and add it as one of your options.

All Camden City School District schools, including magnet schools
Renaissance Schools - KIPP, Mastery, & Uncommon
Charter - Freedom Prep and Hope Community

What is a sibling preference?
A sibling preference is a priority added to the application if the child has a sibling currently attending the school they applied to.
A second type of sibling preference is a sibling accepted preference.
This preference is for families with multiple children who are applying to the same school.
If one of your children is offered a seat, the other children who applied to the same school will get a priority.
You do not need to do anything specific to obtain this preference, we will automatically identify this priority.
For the purposes of One Camden, siblings are defined as children sharing either a guardian or an address.
Keep in mind that schools will verify that siblings attend your school.

What is a neighborhood guarantee priority and a neighborhood preference?
A neighborhood guarantee priority is for CCSD schools.
You always have a guaranteed seat at your neighborhood CCSD school.
Children with a neighborhood guarantee priority receive seats before anyone else.
The second type is a neighborhood preference.
Neighborhood preferences are for renaissance schools (KIPP, Mastery, and Uncommon).
Renaissance schools are public schools in your neighborhood operated by nonprofit charter organizations.
They are committed to serving all students in the neighborhood near their school.
As a result, they give priority to students in their neighborhood during the application process.
If you apply to one of these schools in your neighborhood, you will receive this preference.
Children outside your neighborhood will not be accepted until all students from the neighborhood have received a space at that time.
If your child is entering kindergarten and you submit an application before March 30, your child has a guaranteed seat at your neighborhood renaissance school.

What do I need to apply?
You will need basic information about your child, such as current school, date of birth, grade as well as information related to your family, such as address, phone number, and name of the parents/guardians.
You should also create a list of schools in your order of preference.
If your child is applying to a Magnet Selection Program (Brimm Medical Arts High School, Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, or Camden Big Picture Learning Academy), you may need additional information, such as report cards, essays, recommendations.

When will I know the results?
Main Round results are released at the end of April.
You will receive an email/text message with your results.

‍I have been offered a seat at a school. What am I supposed to do now?
If you received an offer from the main round, you have 1 week to accept or decline the offer and until June 5 to register.
If you received an offer after June 5, you have 1 week to accept or decline the offer and register.
To start the registration process:
Gather all necessary registration documents including your child's birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency.
Reach out to the school to schedule registration

How does the waitlist work?
If your child did not receive an offer to their first ranked school, he or she will be placed on the waiting list for each school ranked above the school they received an offer from.
For example, if your child matches to their third option, he or she would be placed on the waiting list for their first and second ranked schools.
If you receive an offer from a school where your child is on the waiting list, you must respond within one week.
After that time, the school will offer the seat to the next student on the waitlist.
Preferences for siblings and neighborhoods are still applied on the waitlist.
For schools that offer a preference for siblings, a student with a sibling who already attends that school would be placed higher on the waitlist of a student without a sibling.
The only exception to this waitlist policy applies to selective admissions schools.
If the school's admissions team determines that a student does not meet the minimum admission requirements, that student will not be admitted or remain on the waitlist.
These applications will appear as "Withdrawn" in your online account.

How do I register?
After accepting your offer, please follow the below steps to start the registration process:
Gather all necessary registration documents including your child's birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency.

I missed the deadline for the main round. Can I still apply?
Yes! You can submit an application after the main round closes.
Applications that are submitted after the main round will automatically go to the waitlist.
If your application is for your neighborhood CCSD school, you have a guaranteed seat.
Please reach out to the school to begin registration.

Can I apply to pre-K programs through One Camden?
Yes.
All Camden residents who are 3 or 4 years old on or before October 1 qualify for the free pre-k.

What about private schools and technical schools?
Catholic Partnership Schools and Camden County Technical Schools do not participate in One Camden.
However, both schools partner with One Camden to share information about their programs.
Catholic Partnership Schools are committed to providing an excellent student-centered education, deeply rooted in faith and values, that prepares its graduates for the successful transition into college or technical high schools.

Tuition Assistance is available for all families that qualify. 90% of the families through Catholic Partnership Schools receive financial assistance.
